    Astrology During Aries

The Sun enters the sign of Aries on March 20th at 10:19 a.m., Mountain Time. Aries is a fire sign and is associated with the warrior of the Zodiac, Mars.  Aries is the pioneer of all the signs and starts the Astrological New Year. This fire sign likes to drive fast, talks loudly and be the first in line. Coffee is the drug of choice for the speedy Aries. Of course, bright red it their color.

Welcome to the Spring Equinox! Each year the beginning of Aries marks the new season of spring. Like Stonehenge, people all over the world are celebrating the Equinox. The year is divided into quarters for the four different seasons. Aries and Libra are the two Equinoxes and start the spring and fall seasons. Equinox means equal nights and is when the length of the days and nights are equal. Cancer and Capricorn are the two Solstices and start the summer and winter seasons. On the Summer Solstice, the days are the longest. On the Winter Solstice, the days are the shortest. This is of course only for the Northern Hemisphere, since the seasons are opposite in the Southern Hemisphere.

We start the spring off with Mercury turning retrograde from March 22nd through April 15th.  This Mercury Retrogrades lands in Aries, which is the sign of new beginnings. This is the perfect time for a spring housecleaning and getting rid of what you are no longer using. This will also be good for changing deep patterns in your life. What do you want to release? Aries will let it go and Fast! Interestingly enough, Mercury turns direct on April 15th, which is also the New Moon in Aries. That timing will help move forward any sudden changes that you want to create.

This year has two Blue Moons, which is pretty rare. A Blue Moon is the second Full Moon in a month. There was a Full Moon on January 1st and a Blue Moon on January 31st. February didn’t even have one Full Moon. That leaves March with two Full Moons. So March 1st is a Full Moon and March 31st is the second Blue Moon of the year. It will also be the last Blue Moon of 2018. Even though this is just a synchronization of the calendar and the lunar cycle, it’s still important. What do two Blue Moons mean? I think it’s a gift to humanity to help uplift the world right now.

Mars has now entered the sign of Capricorn and will join both Saturn and Pluto. Mars joins Saturn on April 2nd and will join Pluto on April 26th. Capricorn is the sign of government, rules and regulations and corporations. Mars is always a trigger to release the bigger group of planets. So we can all watch these dates for peaks in that area, but the entire month of April is charged. If you have important projects you are working on, these are push dates to focus on them.

Regarding the planets, we can see all the visible planets now. Venus is now the “Evening Star” and can be seen after sunset. She will be up in the evening sky until October, so we can see her for a while now. I love Venus seeing her after sunset. Mercury has been traveling with Venus and can both be seen low along the western horizon right after the Sun sets. Mercury is much not as bright as Venus and you might need binoculars to help see him more easily. Once Mercury retrogrades on March 23rd, it will disappear into the glow of the Sun and can’t be seen. Try to see Venus and Mercury together for a real treat!

Have a fabulous month and I’ll see you in Taurus!
