• Astrology During Aquarius

The Sun enters the sign of Aquarius on January 20th at 2:01 a.m., Mountain Time. Aquarius is an air sign and is associated with the Rebel, Uranus. Aquarius is the sign that likes to change everything up. Equality is the essence of Aquarius. The internet is their domain. We all have a little Aquarius in us and we will feel that part come to life this month.

Not only will the Sun enter Aquarius on January 20th, but there is also a Lunar Eclipse on the very same day. A Lunar Eclipse always occurs on the Full Moon, which mean this Eclipse will be in the sign of powerful Leo. In addition, this one happens to be a Super Moon on top of being in Leo. Right now there is a huge party of planets in Capricorn, which are involved with this Lunar Eclipse, making it every more important. An Eclipse is the time to release whatever no longer serves you.  What do you want to change? Since there are so many planets involved with this Eclipse, make is bold and swift.

Mercury will enter Aquarius on January 23rd and will have a quick run through that sign. It will change into Pisces on February 10th. Aquarius is about technology, so get any new gadgets you received for Christmas figured out before Mercury enters dreamy Pisces. Mercury in Aquarius is a good time to make quick decisions in your life, especially combined with an Eclipse season. Make up your mind and just do it!

Mars entered his sign of Aries on New Year’s Eve and will move into Taurus on February 14th. The second week in February, both Mars and the Moon will join volatile Uranus and will bring a time for people speaking up. Surprises are likely.

We are in for a real treat in the predawn sky! Brilliant Venus will be joining bright Jupiter now through the end of January. The Moon will join them both on January 30th through February 1st for a spectacular display in the predawn sky. Make sure to get up ½ hour earlier than sunrise and look above the eastern horizon. It doesn’t get much better than this, folks!

Not only are Venus and Jupiter a beautiful sight in the sky, but they will also bring a positive time for us. This will only last for about 1 week, but see if you can catch the good luck and abundance they have as a team. Expect something big and beautiful to happen and it likely will.

We also have another cycle beginning. On February 4 will start the Chinese New Year of the Earth Pig. It is said that a Piggie year brings a positivity and cooperation. I’ll be writing an entire article talking about the Piggie. This is quite a month astrologically with an Eclipse and Chinese New Year starting. It feels like this will be a turning-point year with a start like this!

See you next month in Pisces!

  • What's Up for Your Sign During Leo?

Happy Birthday, amazing Leo! This will be quite a birthday for you with two Eclipses during this month. This will be one of the most powerful birthdays for you in a long time if you want to change your lifestyle. What do you want to release? How do you want to change? Now is your time! You can do it!

Venus is in Virgo until August 7th and now is the time to add some sweetness to your life. Feng Shui is favored so make your life more comfortable and start with your bedroom. Open it up and add more space to make it more beautiful.

Once Venus leaves Virgo she goes into your sign of Libra. You will have from August 8th – September 9th with her in Libra. For a real treat, the Moon will join bright Venus from August 13th – 15th. Make sure you go outside and watch them. This is a set up for romance, loving Libra.

Do you want to take a little holiday? Then you’re in luck because you have a perfect get away weekend on August 16th – 19th. You can either travel somewhere or you can just hide and hibernate that weekend. Trust your Scorpio intuition, which always knows the right thing for you to do.

The Sag in you always loves to travel and now is a great time. Pick a new destination and be bold and adventurous. This window won’t come again soon, so go for the exotic . . . why not?

Mars is in Capricorn now and is doing a retrograde in your sign from August 12th until September 11th. Use that retrograde phase to take care of any old and unfinished business. The older and the more resistant the better. It might not be easy, but you will be free when it’s all cleaned out.

Mars is doing a retrograde in Aquarius now and won’t leave until August 12th. This is a strong retrograde to rethink and release old themes. Once you let them go you can redirect your energy in a new and fresh way.

Your power time this month is the last few days in July and the very beginning of August. You will see old relationships in a new and different way. Make sure to tell your partners exactly how you feel to make a needed change. This will only take a little tweaking to fix.

The first few days in August will be your best escape window. If you can possibly get away . . . please do it! If you can’t escape, at least take some special time for yourself and try something new. Even going to a matinee movie does wonders to switch the energy.

If you haven't already, early August will be a perfect time for you to change something big. With the great changer, Uranus, in your sign of Taurus now, you are restless and ready for a new life. Maybe you need a new hairstyle? Or be fierce and get a tatttoo . . . you know you want to get a bit wild!

This is your month to do some writing, smarty-pants Gemini. There is a group of planets in your house of writing now, so if you put on your thinking cap . . . amazing words will come out. Now is your time for brilliance, Gemini!

Creativity is coming to you, dear Cancer. Plan to take some time the week of August 6th and you will be surprised at the beautiful results. You may want to look at a new color scheme with a more tranquil and serene feeling to it. Blues and blue-greens are favored.

  • Astrology During Leo

The Sun enters the sign of Leo on July 22nd at 2:02 p.m., Mountain Time. Leo is a fire sign and is associated with the one and only Sun! Leo knows it is the center of the Zodiac, just like the Sun is in the middle of our Solar System. Leo is the entertainer and loves being the center of attention, of course. Not surprisingly, the heart is the part of the body that belongs to Leo. The heart is the focal point of the body and is also perfect because of the love and generosity exhibited by this dramatic sign. Leo has a youthful spirit and loves to play, even though this sign likes being in control.

This month is filled with exciting celestial events, starting with a Total Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius on July 27th. This will be a wild Eclipse of the Moon because the Moon will be joining feisty Mars during the Eclipse. It will be visible in the Eastern Europe, Middle East, Australia and Antarctica. For those enough lucky to see the Eclipse, make sure to notice the obvious Mars right next to the Eclipsed Moon. It should be quite a sight. For those who are just seeing the Full Moon, make sure you see Red Mars close to the Moon!

Since Mars is close to the Earth, it is very bright and red now. Mars will rise mid evening in the east and will be up in the sky all night. Make sure you take the time to notice how easily Mars can be seen now. The best months to see Mars will be July and August. Take your family and friends outside and point out Mars. You will be the hit of the night and my little astrologer at large. Remember all the planets are along the Ecliptic or the Great Highway in the Sky. Where the Sun is during the day is always, always where the planets are at night. So, take notice of the Sun’s path and you will know where to find Mars at night. It’s easier than you think.

This is quite the time for Mars, because not only will he be the brightest, he is also retrograding during this time. Mars will be retrograde in Aquarius and a bit of Capricorn from June 26th through August 27th. All retrogrades are times to rethink, regroup and remove old themes in your life. This is a slower planet than Mercury and will have a stronger retrograde than we’re used to. Mercury is about changing our mental attitudes, where Mars is more about changing our actions. Old patterns will become obsolete and you will realize many of your efforts from the past are now unnecessary and outdated. You will strive to become more efficient and will not want to waste your precious time with situations that no longer serve you. Be bold about changing patterns as this window doesn’t happen often.

Not only do we have a Lunar Eclipse, we also have a Partial Solar Eclipse. This will occur on August 11th and will be in the sign of Leo. This partial Eclipse of the Sun will only be visible in Canada, Greenland, the North Atlantic Ocean and Russia. Even though we can’t see an Eclipse, we can all feel it. All Eclipses are a time to look at your life in a new way. This month is quite special with two Eclipses and Mars doing a retrograde too. No matter what your sign in, take time this summer to let go of old patterns in your life and it will be easier than you think. Start with the simple stuff and when you feel more accomplished, then tackle the more entrenched patterns.

The visible planets will put on quite a show for us this month. Mercury can be seen for the first week or so in the sign of Leo until it gets lost in the glow of the Sun. In addition to Mercury, we can see All of the visible planets in the evening sky this month. Venus is bright and above the western horizon. Higher in the sky is big Jupiter with dim Saturn being to the east of Jupiter. Bright red Mars will top it off by looking further east. All of these will be in an easy arc in the sky called the Ecliptic. You can also use your smart phone with an app like Google’s Sky Map to spot the planets. But then put down your phone and see them all with your naked eye. The very best way to see the planets are not through your phone, binoculars or a telescope. Train your eyes to see them, as they have done for thousands of years. Remember this tip: Stars twinkle and planets shine. There is more of a steady light coming from the planets and once you can tell the difference, you will know if you are looking at a star or a planet. Easy.

See you next month in Virgo. Are we going into the autumn already?

  • Astrology During Cancer

The Sun enters the sign of Cancer on June 21st at 3:08 a.m., Mountain Time. Cancer is a water sign and is associated with the planet of emotions, the Moon. Even though the Moon isn’t actually a planet, astrologers refer to it as a planet. The sign of Cancer relates to family, food and nurturing. This is an emotional water sign that surrounds itself with loved ones for support. The kitchen is the part of the home where this sign of Cancer is usually found. Cozy and comfortable are good keywords for this sensitive sign.

Happy Summer Solstice! On June 21st, every year, the Sun not only enters the sign of Cancer, but it also marks the official beginning of Summer! Solstice means the Sun stops, which it does on both the Summer Solstice and the Winter Solstice. Yes, celebrations are happening all over the world honoring this change of seasons.

This month will also bring us a Solar Eclipse on July 13th. This one is only visible in South Australia and New Zealand, so no Eclipse parties, for the Northern Hemisphere at least. This will be quite a powerful Eclipse because it will oppose the intense planet, Pluto, during the Eclipse. This will strengthen your internal energy but could also bring a time of bosses in your life. Know that you are your own authority figure!

Mars will turn retrograde in both Aquarius and Capricorn from June 26th through August 27th. This will be a time to rethink actions from the past to heal old relationships and patterns. Retrogrades are always about regrouping and redirecting the energy. A Mars retrograde is definitely a focus on reassessing how much time and effort we put into unnecessary situations. Think efficiency and purpose. How are you wasting your time? What do you want to accomplish instead? You will see a fast move forward once Mars turn direct. Plan accordingly.

Mercury is now in the sign of Cancer and will be there until it goes into Leo on June 29th. This is the time to communicate to your loved ones. If there are any family projects to do,  or if you are in the mood for researching your family genealogy, start it now. Interview your elders and have them tell you stories of your ancestors. This is a sweet, tender time for family. There might also be decisions that need to be made about living situations. Are people moving? Don’t be surprised if you play musical chairs . . . only with houses.

I usually don’t write about the Full Moon, but this is going to be a powerful one and deserves mentioning. The Sun is in Cancer, so the Full Moon is in the opposite sign of Capricorn. Remember, Saturn and Pluto are also now in Capricorn and yes, they will both be joining the Full Moon. You will be able to see Saturn next to the Full Moon, but of course, Pluto is never visible with the naked eye. But we will all feel them being next to the Full Moon, even if we can’t see them. Be totally authentic and feel your power during the peak of this lunar cycle. Know that you are in charge of your life and no one else. Stand tall, be strong and let everyone know your intentions. Things will change in your life as a result!

As far as the visible planets go this month, we are in for a treat. Venus is now the “Evening Star” and can be seen shining brightly above the western horizon. Jupiter is also now visible in the evening sky and is up in the east right after sunset. For the early risers, Mars and Saturn are low in the western sky right before sunrise. Quite soon they will both be moving into the evening sky, so quite soon we will have several planets in the evening sky for your viewing pleasure.

One more exciting thing is happening with the visible planets. Mars will be getting close to the Earth and will therefore become very bright red. Mars made a wonderful showing in 2003 and is predicted to be even brighter this July. It’s worth checking out the sky just to see Mars!

I’ll see everyone next for Leo. Have a wonderful start to Summer!

  • What's Up for Your Sign During Cancer

Happy Birthday, dear Cancer! Mental Mercury is in your sign of Cancer now until June 28th, which will also be the Full Moon. If you have any writing or communicating to do, now is your time. Also, have a gathering on the Full Moon for family and friends.

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, will be in your sign of Leo until July 9th. Be sure to do something luxurious now. Maybe a massage? Absolutely get a mani and pedi for sure. Are you ready for a new hairdo? Go for it!

The Moon will join Venus and will both be in Virgo on July 16th and 17th. You will be more emotional than your usual Virgo self, so be prepared to do something in a sensitive manner – maybe helping others.

This month will bring you unusual events. Try to embrace newness as much as your Libra can handle. Be bold and adventurous and do something a bit scary. You will realize that it’s not as scary as you thought but was instead, stimulating and fun.

Your escape time this month is the weekend of June 23rd. You can either take a quick holiday or just hibernate in your bedroom. It doesn’t really matter, as long as you are doing exactly what you want. Yes, you can be a bit selfish!

You have luck guiding you now, Sag. So, if you are in the mood to take a nice holiday, now is your time. Choose a new destination you have been wanting to visit and be daring. The exotic is all yours now.

The Full Moon will be in your sign of Capricorn this month on June 28th. The Moon will join both Pluto and Saturn on the Full Moon, so it will be very powerful for you. Meet influential people during that time.

Mars is in your sign of Aquarius now and is helping you to release what you no longer need. It could be outdated things or old emotional habits from your childhood. They are no relevant now and are ready to go away. Do it and you will feel free!

The Moon will be in your sign of Pisces on the July 4th holiday! It will join Neptune and form a perfect triangle with Jupiter and the Sun to help you be creative and have fun. Do something that inspires you. Yes, you will feel like celebrating!

Have a fun party this July 4th holiday. The planets are lining up for you to have a theme of activity . . . like a hike or playing on the beach. Be adventurous and try a new location to stimulate your mind. Yes, you can get a bit wild!

The rebel planet Uranus has entered your sign of Taurus. Do you feel like making drastic changes in your life? If not, you will soon. Now is the time to dream big in preparation for your new life!

Ah, dear Gemini, you are in an amazing time in your life now. Think big. Make changes. Know you can do it and go for it in a confident way. You are co-creating very powerfully now.

  • Once in a Very Blue Moon

So what is a Blue Moon? When there are two Full Moons in one month, the second one is called a Blue Moon. As the lyrics read from that classic song, “Just once in a very blue moon, and I feel one comin’ on soon”. Yes, one is comin’ soon . . .  on January 31st.

Remember that 2018 started with a Super Moon on January 1st. A Super Moon is when the Full Moon is closer to the Earth and appears a bit larger. It is actually 14% larger than the smallest Moon, which is quite significant and noticeable with the naked eye.  But there’s more!

Not only is this a Super Moon and a Blue Moon – it’s also an Eclipse. So I would call its official title a Super Blue Moon Eclipse! That doesn’t happen too often. This Eclipse falls in the sign of Leo, which will make it important for that fire sign.  An Eclipse is the best time to release old patterns in your life and we will all feel it, even if we’re not Leo.

The year of 2018 is an unusual year relating to Blue Moons. January will have two Full Moons with the last one being the Eclipsed Blue Moon. February doesn’t have even one Full Moon, but March will have two Full Moons with the last one being the second Blue Moon of the year. But it won’t be an Eclipse, like in the Blue Moon in January. Most years will only have one Blue Moon in a year. There are 12 months and 13 Lunations, creating one Blue Moon per year. But since 2018 started with a Full Moon, it snuck in an extra Blue Moon.

What does this all mean astrologically? It is a gift to us to have 2 Blue Moons in one year. Anything rare is a gift. Early in 2018 will be the time for us all to see our lives in a totally new way. What are we waiting for? Now is the time for change. This can be a release of outer possessions or obvious life situations and routines that need to be changed. It can also be letting go of inner patterns, including outdated emotions and beliefs. Let’s all take this challenge to help us become our most optimum selves so we contribute our gifts more fully to the world. If we all do that, the world will be even a better home for us all.

    Happy Blue Moons!

  • Astrology During Aquarius

The Sun enters the sign of Aquarius on January 19th at 8:11 p.m., Mountain Time. Aquarius is an air sign and is associated with the wild child of the Zodiac, Uranus.  Aquarius is the free spirit of all the astrology signs. This sign is the perfect entrepreneur because of the need to be independent. This sign doesn’t take direction very well. Aquarians are often involved with the high tech industry, inventions and intellectual properties that that help the world. They are the humanitarians who want to save the whales and are willing to march for a cause.

We have a couple of Eclipses this month and at least one of them is quite interesting. The year of 2018 opened on January 1st with a Super Moon, which is such a great way to begin the year. On January 31st will be another Full Moon, but this one is also a Lunar Eclipse. But there’s more. The second Full Moon during a month is called a Blue Moon. So this one is called a Blue Super Moon Eclipse in Leo! Once again, what an unusual way to start the year! In addition to the Blue Super Moon Eclipse, we will also have a Solar Eclipse on February 15th in Aquarius. All the Solar Eclipses this year are partial Eclipses, so nothing very exciting with Eclipses this year.

Valentine’s Day this year will be one day before the Solar Eclipse. So the Moon will be in Aquarius for this holiday. This sign is perfect for having an unusual Valentine’s Day. Break old traditions and try something fun and different for your loved ones.

There are several planets changing signs this month, which will stir up the energy a bit, especially for the signs involved.

    • Mars will enter Sagittarius on January 26th to bring even more dynamic actions. Travel is highlighted now.
    • Mercury enters Aquarius on January 31st, the same day as the Blue Super Moon to add some quirkiness to the Full Moon.
    • Venus enters Pisces on February 10th. That is a loving combination that would be great for healing massages or facials. Spa pampering.

Regarding the visible planets, we’re in for a treat this month. But the catch is that we’ll have to get up before sunrise to see them. If you get up about ½ hour before sunrise, you can see Mercury, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter in a sweet arch across the sky. Mercury will be fleeting and will disappear into the glow of the Sun by January 31st, but the rest will be there all month. This is a rare alignment of planets and it will be worth it to get up early to spot them.

Have a fabulous month and I’ll see you in Pisces!
