People are obsessed now with the heated defamation trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The trial began April 11, 2022 and is still happening as I write this article. I have had several people beg me to write about them, so here are all the juicy details. And yes, it’s juicy.
First I want to review their history before I look at their charts. Both actors, Johnny and Amber started dating in 2012 and were married from 2015 – 2017. Amber filed for divorce in May 2016 and obtained a temporary restraining order against him, saying that Johnny was “verbally and physically abusive” during their relationship. She said that occurred usually while Johnny was intoxicated on alcohol or drugs. A settlement was reached in August 2016 and was finalized in January 2017. Johnny paid Amber $7 million, which she pledged to donate to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. The settlement included a non-disclosure agreement which prevented them both from discussing their relationship with anyone. They released a joint statement that said that their “relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.”
Amber never donated the full amount promised to these charities, siting money problems. But Elon Musk, who Amber was dating after the divorce, sent $350,00 to the ACLU in her name.
You might think that would be the end of it. But no.
In June 2018, Johnny sued News Group Newspapers, the publisher of the UK tawdry tabloid, The Sun. The tabloid published an article calling Depp “a wife beater.” Johnny said Amber had been the aggressor and that she made up abuse accusations and lied about her own use of narcotics. The court accepted Amber’s claim that it had a negative affect on her career and activism. In March 2021, the Court of Appeals rejected Johnny’s request to appeal the verdict. Once again, not over.
In December 2018, The Washington Post published an article entitled Amber Heard: I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. Amber stated, “Two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath on women who speak out…. I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse.”
Then, in February 2019, Johnny sued Amber over the Washington Post op-ed article, again calling her the actual abuser and that her allegations added up to a hoax. In August 2020, Amber countersued saying that Johnny coordinated “a harassment campaign via Twitter and by orchestrating online petitions in an effort to get her fired from Aquaman and L’Oreal.” The trial is being held in Fairfax County in Virginia because that is where The Washington Post’s online edition is located.
I’ve lost count of how many lawsuits that adds up to, but it has been going on for six years now. Johnny is suing her for $50 Million and Amber countersuing him for $100 Million. Yes, they were both abused as children. Yes, they are both addicted to several different substances. And yes, they have both been diagnosed as having Borderline Personality Disorders. BPD is “a mental health disorder that impacts the way you think and feel about yourself and others, causing problems functioning in daily life. It includes self-image issues, difficulty managing emotions and behavior, and a pattern of unstable relationships.”
Sex, drugs and rock and roll attracts viewers. The trial is being livestreamed. It has a very active comment section, which seems more like Twitter than a news channel. Clips have been created and put on Twitter, Tik Tok and Instagram and have gone viral. The hashtags #JusticeForJohnnyDepp and #JusticeForAmberHeard have been busy. There are more supporters for Johhny than for Amber, by the number of views at least. Amber has gathered 26 million views, while Johnny has a whopping 7.6 Billion views so far. The chaos has been terrible for their careers. I could have included more juicy tidbits, like Amber pooping on Johnny’s side of the bed, but I think that’s enough details. I’m ready to look at their charts. They’re juicy too.
Johnny has this Sun in Gemini, his Moon in Sagittarius with a Leo Rising Sign. Gemini Sun is the perfect communicator. Moon in Capricorn, is full of determination. Leo Rising is an entertainer. Johnny has three planets in Virgo in his 1st house. That gives him a tendency to be a perfectionist and to be a little bit peculiar. But the planets paint a different picture. Pluto brings darkness to an already stressed Mars and volatile Uranus. In its highest expression, this conjunction would show charisma. In its lowest, a volatile nature and personal abusive and not abuse of others.
Red lines show life challenges while the blue lines explain life talents. This erratic triple Virgo conjunction is square to both Johnny’s Sun and his Moon. The 4th house is his childhood. It is said that when there were conflicts in his family, he pulled back. Virgos would do that. His other red line is from Venus and Mercury in the 10th house of career to Saturn in Aquarius. The 7th house is marriage. Mercury shows his amazing talent as an actor and Venus ensures success. But the square to Saturn has definitely put a damper on his reptation. Johnny has had movie parts cancelled over these messy and very public divorce and multiple lawsuits. Saturn is the planet of legal problems. It’s all so perfect.
In summary of his red lines: Johnny Depp’s challenge is to deal with his inner conflicts that are complicated by marriages that have a negative effect on his career and reputation.
Luckily, almost every chart has positive blue lines that balance the challenges. The strongest blue lines, or trines, in Johnny’s chart are from his Mercury and Venus to the South Node in his 6th house. The Nodes are a carry over from past lives. This one shows his natural talent as an actor. His other blue line is from his Sag Moon to lucky Jupiter in Aries in his 9th house of international appeal. This shows a talent of expressing his emotions in a dynamic way which has also added to his success.
In summary of his blue lines: Johnny Depp is naturally talented and is successful.
To summarize his chart: Johnny Depp is here to control his inner conflicts so he can share his talent with the world.
Now let’s look at the chart of Amber Heard. Unfortunately, we don’t have her time of birth so I don’t have her rising sign. I’m using the sunrise of her day of birth for a birthtime. Amber has her Sun in Taurus and her Moon in Libra. Stubborn Taurus will not give up easily. Her charming Libra Moon could wow the public and a jury.
Looking at her red lines or challenges, we must start with her Sun and North Node in her 1st house. This is a very intense alignment. It would give a person feelings of good luck and entitlement. But making it stronger, powerful Pluto is opposed to her Sun and joins the South Node. Pluto is people in positions of power, like Johnny Depp and Elon Musk. The South Node often brings major lifetime challenges with not only people in power but also with internal conflicts. That is definitely a difficult angle.
Her other red angle points to Mars conjunct Neptune in her 9th house. Mars is difficulty and Neptune relates to drugs and alcohol. This configuration is often found in charts of addictive personalities. Usually this is kept as a secret. The individual doesn’t want the world to know. Together these planets often bring emotional upset. Mars and Neptune are square to the relationship-oriented Libra Moon. Mercury in Aries would be angry. This shows a pattern of hiding things from others, especially a marriage partner. Her last red line is from prosperous Jupiter square karmic Saturn. Often this is seen in charts that have a downfall from grace, popularity or success. Jupiter likes excess and Saturn takes it to court.
In summary of her red lines: Amber Heard could stir the pot and embellish the truth, all for personal gain.
Now to look at her blue lines or talents. Amber has her Sun and North Node trine to creative Neptune. This would make a good actor and artist. This is a build in setup for notoriety. Her other blue line is from her Mercury in outspoken Aries to hard-working Saturn. This placement of Mercury shows a tendency to use legal mean to justify her entitlement. This is not a friendly position for Mercury.
In summary of her blue lines: Amber Heard is naturally very creative and has an aptitude for communication.
In summary of her chart: Amber Heard is here to be honest about her life so she can bring her creativity and shine in her career.
I find it very interesting that the themes of both of these charts are almost identical. Which is rare. They both deal with inner conflicts that can impact their creativity. When they are brooding they get stuck. When they have role as a creative outlet, they are brilliant. I can see why they were attracted to each other.
This article is named Star-Crossed Lovers for good reasons. Let’s get to know their comparison chart, with Johnny in the center and Amber on the outer wheel. The first thing that jumps out is that they both have Venus in Taurus. They join in Johnny’s 10th house of career. This alignment is very strong in charts of lovers or marriage partners. So, at least at the beginning of their relationship, they were in love. This has made things very difficult for them emotionally. They both have a tendency for substance abuse. This complicates the situation. Amber’s Mercury is joining Johnny’s Jupiter, which is a perfect alignment for arguments. In addition, Amber’s unpredictable Uranus is opposing Johnny’s Sun in Gemini. Uranus always brings chaos and disruption. It has tarnished both reputations. Who’s will be tarnished most?
Their only positive connection in their comparison is their Venus conjunction. The love is definitely there, but it’s not enough to overcome all their challenges. This is why I called this article Star-Crossed Lovers. Venus shows that the love is there but honestly, they both have such difficult charts that they have brought out the worst in each other. I wish them good luck.
